Should you bother with regular manicures and pedicures?

Manicures and pedicures at a top European salon in Dubai are one of life’s little pleasures. It’s an opportunity to take some time away from the stresses of everyday life to do something that’s for you and you alone. Because it can feel so luxurious, many women (and men!) consider manicures and pedicures to be a treat that you should only indulge in once in a while.

Here at roots Salon we think it’s important to make regular manicure and pedicure appointments to keep your nails healthy and looking beautiful. The frequency of the appointments depends on your lifestyle and circumstances, but we all agree that making them a part of your beauty routine is essential.

The benefits of regular manicures and pedicures
  • Relax and unwind

We’ve said it already but it bears repeating: manicures and pedicures are a relaxing way to destress and let the troubles of the day melt away. Regularly taking time out for yourself is proven to reduce strain on your mental health and allows you to better handle stressful situations. Stress doesn’t just wear us down emotionally, it also increases your risk of heart disease, stroke and cancer, so it’s important to find an enjoyable way to unwind.

  • Improve circulation

During manicures and pedicures you receive invigorating, professional hand and foot massages that improve blood circulation, increase joint mobility and relax muscles. If you have issues with arthritis or sprains and strains, massages can also provide some pain relief.

  • Keep skin soft

Dry, cracked skin is painful, more prone to infection and is just downright unappealing. During manicures and pedicures your skin is treated to exfoliation and deep moisturising that helps repair skin and defend it against sun exposure and air pollution. Soft skin also appears smoother, plumper and more youthful.

  • Improve nail health

Strong, healthy nails make you feel gorgeous and confident. Our feet and especially our hands are exposed to all sorts of things during the day which can leave skin and nails dry and damaged. Regular manicures and pedicures give you a deep cleaning, leaving them looking shiny and healthy. They also reduce the chance of infection and ingrown nails (though be aware, if you already have severe issues with your nail health a technician can’t treat the problem, you’ll need a doctor).

There’s no denying getting your nails pampered at a top European salon in Dubai also just makes them look more beautiful!

So how often should you be booking in manicures and pedicures? The answer depends on your lifestyle. Basically, the busier and more active you are, the more often you’ll need a mani-pedi. If you work with your hands or do a lot of sport, we would recommend weekly appointments focused on maintaining nail health and relaxation. If you enjoy having your nails painted, weekly appointments will ensure that you aren’t running around with chipped nails.

If you’re based in an office and do most of your workouts indoors, you can probably get away with twice-monthly appointments. If you consider yourself a true lady of leisure and shopping is the most active you get in a given week, you might be able to stretch the time between appointments even further (but with all that free time, why not pop in for a luxurious treatment a top European salon in Dubai? The facials at roots Salon are legendary!)
